Walking into winter wonderland at Nami island

Nami island was formed as a result of the construction of the Cheongpyeong Dam. It obtained its name "Nami" because here lies the grave of General Nami, who led a great victory against the rebels in the 13th year of the 7th kind of the Joseon Dynasty, King Sejo. It was snowing the night before and hence, Nami island looks like a winter wonderland in South Korea.

Nami island is famous for its beautiful tree lined roads. It is very challenging to take picture here without someone photobombing you from every other direction. Well, I guess that cannot be helped as Nami Island is a pretty popular destination amongst the locals and the tourists.

Noona got fed up trying to take clear shot of the beautifully lined trees so she tried to take it from another angle. #satisfied

Nami Island on a winter day in South Korea

The whole area is covered in white snow. It gets pretty slippery at times but thankfully, none of us fell down. By the way, even though we spotted people using electrical gadgets, we noted that there are no electricity poles at all on the surface of Nami island. Turns out the electric wires were built underground in order to preserve the natural feeling of the landscape.
