4D3N Bali Trip: Warung Babi Guling Pak Malen, Seminyak
Ah, the amazing atmosphere of relaxation and beach vacation in Bali. It has already been 4 years since the last time Noona stepped her feet on this lovely island in Indonesia. The flight from Jakarta to Bali takes approximately 1.5 hours. There are many flights go to Bali as Bali is after all, a popular tourist destination but Omma chose to fly with national airline, Garuda Indonesia because of the comfort reason (and the meal-on-board apparently).
Once we have met up with our driver, Nyoman-ssi (which we booked beforehand) we were off to our first to-do-list of the day, filling our tummy with the famous local delicacy, babi guling (or also known as roasted whole pig). My cousin who has done her homework of researching where to eat in Bali suggested to eat at Warung Babi Guling Pak Malen so here we are inside and waiting eagerly for the babi guling.
Every customer who come to Warung Babi Guling Pak Malen will definitely order for this plate of joy. The roasted pork is offered in a set which comes with the roasted pig skin, crackers, sambal (i.e. Chili sauce), veggie and a pork skewer (re: satay). Noona wish the pork piece can be bigger...hehe. #glutton
A bit of a warning, if you are not a spicy-eater, be careful not to eat the chili accidentally otherwise your whole mouth will burn. No joke. Noona took out the chili bits carefully from the veggie mix to avoid regret. A plate of babi guling set comes at a price of IDR 75,000 (approx SGD 7.5).
If your mouth is already burning, you can eat more white rice and drink iced tea to alleviate the burning sensation. Hahaha. Overall verdict: Nice but not that fantastic. Probably because Noona can't really stand the burning sensation for too many times. =P
