Anyeong Noona

Nami island was formed as a result of the construction of the Cheongpyeong Dam. It obtained its name "Nami" because here lies the grave of General Nami, who led a great victory against the rebels in the 13th year of the 7th kind of the Joseon Dynasty, King Sejo. It was snowing the night before and hence, Nami island looks like a winter wonderland in South Korea.

There are so many cafes in Seoul up to the point that Noona did not have enough time to explore them all. Noona has sweet tooth so she went a bit crazy whenever she visited a cafe in Seoul. During her last visit, she managed to visit both Dunkin Donuts (I know I know it sounds pretty common, right?) and Bean Bins.

Dunkin Donuts in South Korea is somehow different from those located in other countries. The donuts look more tempting than the usual glazed or frosted sugar put on the top of the donuts. The cup for the hot chocolate are kinda cuter too!

There is one thing that piqued Noona's curiousity when she was walking around in Ssamziegil, a hipster shopping complex in the main street of Insadong. There is this cute plush toy of a little vampire girl.

It is finally that time of the year again. When the temperature drops and Christmas is in the air. And it is also the right season to take out your dramatically thick coat and wear it with some style. If you are brave enough to weather the cold temperature outside, that is. If you have the fur coats hidden somewhere in your closet, it is also the time to let them go outside and see the world once again. Not sure how to bring them into the world again? Let's steal Suzy's winter look from Roem. Jump!

If you are pressed for time and looking for places which can be visited at one time in Seoul, you should consider visiting the Blue House, Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village. These three places of interest are located within walking distance from one place to another. As the Blue House is located at the northest point, you can consider starting your journey from the Blue House.

1. The Blue House (Cheong Wa Dae)

You know you have arrived at the Presidential Residence of Cheong Wa Dae when you see a building with blue tiles. The blue tiles and the smooth roof blend beautifully with Mount Bugaksan in the backdrop. Visitors can only gain access to a few areas within the Blue House and photography is also only allowed at certain areas.

Ssamziegil is a shopping complex located in the main street of Insadong, a popular shopping destination in Seoul. Ssamziegil has a spiralling footpath that runs for 500 meters from the first floor to the rooftop, circling around the courtyard like a spring. The courtyard is busy with the preparation of Christmas. Noona really loves how the city looks like when it is near Christmas.

The snow has officially fallen and Seoul has braced itself for a cold winter. But December is the month of festivity and a lot of shopping areas in Seoul are decorated in Christmas ornaments. Insadong is one of those areas. The cold weather did not dampen our mood and we happily stepped into Insadong that afternoon. ^^
