Anyeong Noona

After we finished taking picture at the Sunken Garden in the Garden of Morning Calm, we continued our walk to the other area of the garden. There is this one random area full of rocks. The rocks are stacked neatly on top of each other. This is a common sight in Korea, especially amongst the temples and on hiking trails. The Korean believe that when you add rock to a stack and make a wish, if the stack stays, the wish will come true. But if it falls, then the wish will not come true. Some rocks also represent family, each rock for each members. It's a bit like praying for good luck over the whole family. 

If there is the most beautiful area in the Garden of Morning Calm, it is probably the Sunken Garden. This is the open area that we came across after we have enjoyed looking (and taking pictures) of the beautiful hydrangeas. But before we look at the beauty of Sunken Garden in Gapyeong, let's make a small journey to the small garden right beside it. The garden even has its own entrance but Noona could not read Korean so let's just assume it's a welcome? Anyeong~~~

Summer is the season that we mostly associate the season with the sea, the sun, and the white sands on the beach. We seldom relate summer to flowers. Because it seems unlikely for flowers to bloom when the sunlight is at its hottest energy. Well, if you come visit the Garden of Morning calm in Gapyeong during summer, you may be surprised. Summer is apparently the season of roses, irises and hydrangeas. And talking about the last, there is a festival of hydrangeas at the Garden of Morning Calm in Gapyeong every summer. For a start, here is a pretty small pink hydrangeas to welcome our reader tonight! Anyeong-haseyo! 

Anyeong! How is everyone doing? If someone having a bad day, this post will be good for you because today's post is full of beautiful trees and flowers. A lot of flowers that Noona saw for the first time too. These are the plants that Noona saw when she embarked on a journey to explore the beautiful garden in South Korea, the Garden of Morning Calm. The Garden of Morning Calm has 5,000 species of plants so we will see many flowers or plants that we may not know before.

For a start, does anyone know the name of this white flowers? Their petals are mini but many and they look pretty grouped together. 

Noona had never heard about the Garden of Morning Calm until she did a research about how to go to Petite France. The Gapyeong Tour bus' route goes all the way to the Garden of Morning Calm. So after Noona and her friend visited Petite France, we decided to spend our summer in the Garden of Morning Calm at Gapyeong. A lot of ahjumma(s) [re: Korean ladies in their 50s] were in the same bus as us. It seems that those ahjumma(s) are gardening expert because they are ready with the gardening gloves.
