Currently listening to Big Bang's One Last Dance and reading news about TOP being hospitalised. The life of these Korean idols are tough up to the point they need to consume drugs and get high. Hope he recovers soon and well. He's really a great artist and Noona thinks Big Bang will not be complete without him. Haiz. Such news making Noona feeling so blue.

One fine afternoon, Noona's unnie at work invited her out for lunch. Since she happened to be free, Noona just agreed to the invitation and the Unnie wanted to try out vegetarian food at Fortune Centre, which is not located not near to our office at all. But Noona is not Noona if she is not up for a lunch time adventure. After changing MRT line and walk for a few minutes under the sun, they have finally reached New Green Pasture Cafe at level 4 of Fortune Centre.

New Green Pasture Cafe was opened by a cancer survivor who since then turned vegetarian. The food sold here are made from organic stuff and hence, premium price. Unnie ordered a bowl of Thunder Tea Rice, a dish which Noona can't understand why people like to eat. The soup is minty and Noona could not get the idea of eating rice with minty soup logical in their mind. Nah.

But the bowl of thunder tea rice really looks good on its own though. Probably Noona can eat this without the minty soup. Hahaha. You can take the radish soup from the pot near the counter but you have to pay SGD 1 for unlimited amount of serving. Quite a good deal, but the ladle is so hot you need to be careful when taking the soup.

Noona ordered a plate of sesame soba instead. Are these giant bean sprouts? The portion of giant bean sprouts and seaweed are generous but I suggest you not to eat this dish if you are on a date or important lunch meeting because the seaweed bits and sesame can easily get stuck on your teeth. Taste wise, quite light and yummy (Noona loves sesame) but you will get hungry again around 4PM-ish.

Anyeong! Noona is seriously feeling the boredom of living a monotonous lifestyle again in Singapore. She does not know why it is so freaking easy to lose out the having fun soul once you are stuck in a 9 - 6 job everyday. Even the weekends has become somewhat typical because you will surely need to recover from the weekdays' burnt out. Despite being a hardcore believer of her own "work-save-travel-repeat", it seems that the need to travel has become bigger and bigger. Soon, the mojo will turn into work-save-TRAVEL-repeat. Wonder what the bank account gonna say. Probably scream. Hahahaha.

Since we are currently in the saving period, let's just try to have fun with the activity that Noona and friends love the most in Singapore, cafe-hopping. This time around, we are going to make ourselves comfortable at all Clinton St Baking Company & Restaurant.

Oink Noona: Clinton St. Baking Company & Restaurant, Bugis

Clinton St. Baking Company & Restaurant in Singapore is apparently the same as the one originally created by chef-husband & wife, Neil Kleinberg and Dede Lahman. Sounds like a very beautiful dream comes true story. Noona is actually pretty inspired by this kind of dream but she does not know how to bake and where is the capital going to come from. Oh well, for now, let's just check out the menu.

We ordered one sweet and one savoury dish to share amongst the two of us. For the sweet dish, we ordered Pancakes with Warm Mapple Butter (SGD 19) which comes with three options: Blueberry, Banana Walnut or Chocolate Chunks. We were in the mood for some Ba-na-na moment so we chose banana walnut. The pancakes are fluffy and thick, which are exactly what Noona likes.

We were kinda having difficulties to decided on what to order for the savory items because all the items on the menu look quite similar to each other. This is especially after reading so many "egg" words in the menu. Our choice of egg savory dish finally fell on Spanish Scramble (SGD 21) which consists of three eggs, chorizo, tomatoes, caramelised onions, scallions, melted Monterey Jack with hash brown and sourdough toast. Noona does not really fancy sourdough toast but the hashbrown tastes so good. Yummy.

We did not feel like eating dessert at Clinton St Baking Company & Restaurant because we had just finished the pancake. So we decided to go for a walk around Bugis area before eventually settled down at Llao Llao which is located at the 4th level of Bugis+. It is not easy to secure a table here because the yoghurt place is not big in the first place.

Since we were sharing the yoghurt, we decided to go for Sanum (SGD 6.95). In a gist, Sanum gives you the choice of many toppings from chocolate to fruits to sauce (which makes the yoghurt questionable in its healthy value).

Seriously Noona does not think this yoghurt from Llao Llao is going to help her diet in any way. But it tastes good and weekends are meant to be enjoyed in any case. So yeah, all is well. Hahaha.

Anyeong and happy weekend to everybody. It is a very hot Saturday morning but all seems well when you do not have to crawl your way to office. Noona has tried to do all kind of efforts possible during the weekdays to avoid coming back to office on weekend. No no no. Especially when the aircon is turned off on weekend. Oh my gawd. She's surely gonna melt in the office in this kind of scenario.

Thankfully the worst possible story line from the corporate jungle has been avoided. And Noona can continue her cafe-hopping adventure in peace. Clap clap clap. Last Saturday, she and her cafe-hopping buddy decided to explore one of the hipster area in Singapore, Haji Lane and its surroundings. We originally wanted to try out The Hangar but the cafe was closed for the rest of the day at 5.30PM-ish. Crazy. So we switched venue to I Am instead.

I Am offers main dishes such as burgers, sandwich and pizza. All the dishes served here is halal and hence, this cafe is pretty popular with the Muslim. The burgers look pretty delicious from the picture really.

It has been hot since last Saturday so Noona was really in a dire need of a cold drinks. No alcohol served at I Am for sure because otherwise they cannot retain their halal certificate. But mocktails are available and I Am has a pretty interesting range of mocktails.

After we have made our order, we looked around at the cafe's decoration. A lot of street signs from what seems to be the Netherlands, not sure why. Maybe someone has just come back from the country. They do make a pretty good pillar decoration though. Hahaha.

Here comes our mocktails, one glass of Lychee Virgin Mojito (SGD 6.90) and Bushramint (SGD 6.90). Virgin Lychee Mojito is pretty self-explanatory while the Bushramint is supposedly the most popular drink in I Am's menu and its a refreshing citrus-based concoction with orange slices. Taste not bad. Both of the mocktails are pretty good for hot weather.

Few minutes later, our burgers have finally arrived. The Boss Burger (SGD 17.90) is supposedly come with charcoal burger but there's nothing so charcoal-ly when the burger came to our table. It is a pretty tall burger though because it is filled with huge patty (which claimed to be marinated with 7 different herbs), sautéed mushroom, turkey bacon and special sauce. No description on what kind of 7 different herbs used to infuse the beef patty with and there's no way I Am gonna tell what kind of sauce they are using for the burger. But anyway at the end of the day, the burger tastes good and that's what really matter.

Oh turned out the charcoal buns are used for the Soft Shell Crab Burger (SGD 16.90) instead. The soft shell crab burger has crispy soft-shell crab with pickled beetroot and wasabi mayonaisse. The wasabi taste is not that strong so you don't have to worry about putting them in your mouth. Noona wish they serve fries with the burger as well because she does not really like the tortillas. They are soggy and not crispy at all. Other than that, the burger taste pretty good. I Am serves pretty decent and nice burgers after all.

A lot of orders made for the colourful rainbow cakes but the cake is HUGE and we were pretty stuffed from the burgers. So we decided to give it a miss this round. There's a rainbow crepe too on the menu but let's save it for another day.
