K-in-HongKong: Australia Dairy Company, Jordan

Anyeong! One of the activities that Noona enjoys doing the most while she is on holiday is eating breakfast at a leisure pace. Everyday she has to eat breakfast in the office because who has time to eat breakfast at home while you can doze for an extra few minutes. Hehe. If you think your colleagues has the decency to wait until you have finished eating before questioning you some shits, you can wish forever. It won't happen. So yeah, if you are travelling, don't forget to enjoy your breakfast to the max.

If you happen to travel to Hong Kong, you must must must must try having breakfast at Australia Dairy Company. Since the breakfast eatery is located at MTR Jordan, Noona needed to change line at Central MTR and that's when she noted that Hong Kong people do not walk as fast as they used to when Noona visited Hong Kong five years ago. Either Hong Kong people walk slower or Noona walks faster, nobody knows. Hahaha. Another hypothesis is Hong Kong commuters which only start commuting at 9+ walk slower compared to their compatriot who commute at peak hour (i.e. 8 - 9 AM). Okay, never mind, this is really not important. LOL.

The scene of the neighbourhood around Jordan MTR which is full of signages which look pretty much dangerous when typhoon hits the city. Well, maybe they are stronger than they look.

If you are wondering which one is Australia Dairy Co., you just need to see which building has a long queue formed in front of them.  The queue at 9.30AM was not too bad though and since the restaurant staff make sure that noone dilly dally around inside the restaurant without eating, you can get your seat pretty fast. In fact, Noona only needed to wait for 5 mins.

If you are confused about the menu at Australian Dairy Company, you just need to look at this three colors signboard. Noona's Chinese characters are actually not that advance yet although she could tell that the blue menu has the words "Breakfast" at the top. Since we came in the morning so decided to just go for it, man. Oh right, if you want to get your eggs scrambled, remember to say the magic words in Chinese "chao dan". If not, you will receive a sunny side up instead. Why does Noona make so much fuss about this is mainly because the reason for the long queue formed outside Australia Dairy Company is the scrambled egg.

Breakfast menu at Australian Dairy Co Hong Kong

Noona opted to drink Hong Kong milk tea why travelling buddy wanted to try milk. White milk, omg. Noona can't withstand drinking pure white milk without any flavor added. Hahaha.

The highlight of the breakfast set is definitely the scrambled eggs. Totally no idea how Australia Dairy Company cook the scrambled egg (perhaps they learn all the way from Australian chef, who knows) but the egg tastes so good especially when eaten together with the butter toast. Yummy!

After the meal, Noona randomly took picture of a random street of Hong Kong and had fun trying new filtering function from Line Camera. That's when she figured out how to show only the red color portion of the picture. Turns out to be quite cool. #filteringalltheway

K-in-HongKong: Going Crazy in City Super, IFC

One thing that Noona is so looking forward to whenever she's visiting a country is the supermarket. Noona loves snacking the most and in fact, she's currently munching while typing this post. Hahaha sounds unglam she knows. To make matters worse, it is already 10 minutes to 11 at night now but she does not think she will be able to sleep soon so well, let's just enjoy the snack. Nom nom.

"Come on, shopping at supermarket should feel the same at everywhere else in the world."

NOOOOOOOO!

Supermarket in different country will sell different things and City Super happens to have a lot of Japanese snacks which Noona loves (some may have been available in Singapore but Noona was not sure about that so well, grab them all!)

"Okay Noona, chill. What snacks are available at City Super in Hong Kong then?"

Glad you ask that, without further ado:

(1) Pocky for kids

Why Noona call them pocky for kids is mainly because (a) the box is so small (b) the popular characters plastered on the front side of the box. Although to be honest, adults would go ga-ga over Rilakkuma and Hello Kitty too rather than kids. Thomas...okay that one is surely for the kids.

(2) Home Cafe Biscuits

Noona tried this randomly when she and her best pal travelled to Taiwan (there's City Super in Taipei too, woots!) and this cheese biscuits turn out to be very yummy. Since the name of the brand is Home Cafe Biscuits, Noona supposes the biscuits will go well when paired with coffee but they taste good on their own really. One box only contains 7 biscuit bags (one bag contains 2 biscuits).

(3) Olive Pretz range

Noona has never seen this range of Pretz before and it seems that the usual thin Pretz sticks has been enlarged. There are only two flavours for Olive Pretz range, cheese and basil. Noona has tasted the cheese one and she finds it to be so - so. Will update this post on the basil one once she has tasted it.

(4) Nutella Ferrero B-ready

Did anyone say Nutella? One word of "nutella" at any kind of snack will definitely be bought. The biscuit is basically filled with nutella and wait a minute, this taste a bit like the hazelnut from Ferrero Rocher. Melted Ferrero Rocher and nutella filled in biscuits. Taste good on its own (anything contains nutella or ferrero rocher will not taste bad) and when paired with a cup of coffee.

5. Galbo Ball

Galbooooooo! My favourite snacks from Japan (tried and tested the green tea flavor during last year trip to Japan) are available in City Super too. Haven't tried this one yet but the banana choco flavor taste yumz. Suggest to chill them for a while in the fridge before eating.

6. Lindt Creation Chocolate Bars

Noona is sure that both chocolate bars will taste like heaven even though she has not tasted them yet. She has faith in them. LOL.

7. Funky flavoured Pocky and Pretz

Brazilian orange, sweet potato, ice cream and salty chocolate? Only three words required: Buy Them All.

Pretz and Pocky from City Super Hong Kong

8. Lindt Hello Ranges

Noona bought a lot of these when she travelled to Vienna. The cookies & cream tastes the best but the rest ain't bad either. There are more flavours other than cookies & cream, chocolate sundae and strawberry cheesecake but Noona decided to just stick to these three.

9. Other stuff

If you love chips, you can find varieties of Kettle Chips (has never seen black peppercorn flavour before in Singapore, not sure about sea salt), Nando's chips (yes, even Nando's come up with chips), and Walkers (has never seen Prawn Cocktail, Worchester Sauce and Bacon flavours in Singapore).

Loots from City Super Hong Kong

Noona had to carry back two big shopping bags to the hotel but she still managed to buy a glass of Ten Ren's Cha along the way. Superpower obtained for snacks. Hahaha.

City Super's location:

A very pissing day

Noona was definitely very very very very very angry. She spent a lot of times trying to help an annoying human being from a certain department within the office and she's being very "helpful" by not making this easy at all. And she even asked Noona to consult someone more senior in Noona's team. Who do you think has all the time in the world to entertain you, piece of shit?

Freaking pissed.

A very pissing day

And just like that, Noona decided to switch off the laptop and proceeded to go home since it's already way beyond closing hour. And there's a new episode of Scarlet Heart Ryeo to watch.

The most annoying thing about being annoyed at work is you can't help but thinking about it right before you're going to bed. How about the unresolved things? Noona thinks she needs to rely on God more to deal with these annoying pests. Well, God loves all human right? Hehe.

Since Pastor has just preached about the wall of Jericho, maybe Noona will just ignore this pest for another 7 days. LOL. Seriously, who ask her to be so annoying in the first place? Ask someone more senior? Pfft. Please, the more senior person will only end up asking Noona further questions instead of helping her resolve the situation. Eff!

#ijustwanttoworkpeacefully

Okay, that's all. Anyeong!

Steal Her Look: EXID Solji's Casual Chic

Steal Her Look:

Whenever there is "EXID" being mentioned, usually the focus is always on the leader, Hani. So Noona thinks it will be nice for once in a while to focus at another member. This time, let's take a look at fashion inspiration from Solji. Solji has been quite busy in her career by oh wow, apparently she sang solo at Immortal Songs. She was also invited to talk at Happy Together 3. Way to go, girl. Fashion wise, Solji seems to sport casual style pretty well. This could be seen from her pictorial with International bnt. Let's jump!

K-in-HongKong: Tai O Fishing Village, Lantau Island

Anyeong! It's only 6AM in the morning and the sun has not even risen yet but Noona is already awake. On a Monday morning. Today is really a rare day. Hahahaha. Noona awoken up at 5.30AM because she has a stomachache, nature called pretty early today. Well she did eat a lot over the weekend. Now that she's awake and got nothing to do, she may as well start blogging early. #highlyefficientnoona

Noona is going to bring you to a little fishing village in the far side of Lantau Island called Tai O. Noona first heard about Tai O from her friend who has just came from Hong Kong three months ago. She was telling her about what you can do at Lantau Island and then, she mentioned about visiting Tai O. Since there is no way to reach Tai O by walking from the cable car station, Noona decided to take the tour package which include an excursion to Tai O fishing village.

360 Fishing Village Insight Tour:

Tour duration: 4 hours
Assembly point: Ngong Ping Village
Language: English/ Putonghua (Mandarin)/ Cantonese
Tour includes: Big Buddha, Po Lin Monastery, Tai O Boat Excursion, Tai O Fish Market, Return cable car ride
Tour price: Adult (HKD 390)/ Child 3-11 (HKD 320) for standard cabin, Adult (HKD 450)/ Child 3-11 (HKD 390) for crystal cabin

K-in-HongKong: Tai O Fishing Village, Lantau Island

Tai O is home to the Tanka people, a community which makes a living by fishing. They have built the houses on stilts above the tidal flats of Lantau Island for generations. This tradition seems to be quite common for a fisherman village, just like the one that Noona has visited before when she came to Phuket, Thailand. The main difference between those fisherman villages and Tai O fishing village is that the latter build their settlement on the right side and left side and then connecting both sides with a canal bridge. As such, fishing boats can come passing by in the midst of the villages carrying both the fishermen and tourists alike. That is how Tai O Fishing Village got its other name, the Venetian of the East (at least, according to the tour guide).

Tai O Fishing Village, the East Venetian

Most people who is currently living in Tai O are elderly because the younger generation prefer to make money in the big city. They visit their parents/ grandparents occasionally on weekends or when they are on long public holiday such as Chinese New Year.

K-in-HongKong: Tai O Fishing Village, Lantau Island

Noona would say Tai O is a modern fishing village because some of the houses have air-conditioner and guess what, there is wifi connection here. The advancement in technology is not surprising as the residents of Tai O Fishing Village are also earning their income from tourism.

Cruising the river at Tai O Fishing Village

A guided tour to Tai O Fishing Village will usually include a walk around the fish market and a visit to a small temple in the neighbourhood. Noona was actually not a fan of a temple but there is nothing else to visit here at Tai O so we just followed the tour guide while he's busy explaining the praying custom to the Western tourists.

Small temple in Tai O, Lantau Island

Right outside the small temple lies an artsy building worthy of Instagram moment. Hahaha. Don't you think we have a habit of Instagramming everything nowadays?

Tai O Fishing Village Market Lantau Island

The fish market is rather entertaining although its size is pretty small compared to the fish market that Noona visited at Yehliu in Taiwan. A lot of dried seafood is on sell here, including omg, is that a dried puffer fish?

Fish market at Tai O Fishing Village Lantau Island

Last but not least, the tour will include a return boat ride from Tai O to the "middle of the sea" in a futile attempt to see white dolphins. To be honest with you, the water looks pretty murky and hence, Noona does not think the white dolphins will like swimming inside it very much. Let's hope they are really still around, probably toward the vast sea where the water may be, hopefully, cleaner.

How to get to Tai O without a tour:

(1)  From MTR Tung Chung station, take bus no. 11 to Tai O bus terminus. The journey will take roughly 50 minutes.

(2) From MTR Tung Chung station, take cable car to Ngong Ping village. From there, take bus no. 21 to Tai O to bus terminus. The total travelling time taken to reach Tai O is around the same (45 minutes) but you can experience the cable car ride.

K-in-HongKong: Eating at Tsui Wah, Tsim Sha Tsui

Noona just ticked one of the checklist in the bucket list. Receiving a pick up line. Ahahahaa. What a weird bucket list to make, she knows. But still, pick up line is functioning just like the name is, picking you up (from the bottomless pit). No matter how lame the pick up line is. LOL.

Ah ok, anyeong everyone! Sorry for the random sharing above. But to be honest with you, this is the first time Noona trying out about an online dating. Let's see how well this goes, okay. Ahem, okay, why is she still rambling on this topic. Right!  Has anyone heard of Hong Kong cafe? If you have been in Singapore long enough, you may have eaten at Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe before. Well, that's is the closest experience you can get in Singapore to eating at Hong Kong cafe.

K-in-HongKong: Eating at Tsui Wah, Tsim Sha Tsui

Noona loves eating at Hong Kong (HK) cafe and her favourite HK cafe is Tsui Wah. Just like Xin Wang, Tsui Wah has pages and pages of menu from Western food to local food to comfort food (like instant noodle). She has just had dim sum for lunch and she now prefers something soupy for a change. So her comes the fishball noodle soup. Looks so simple and yet taste so good and comforting. The green drink behind the bowl is actually a mixture of veggie + fruit blended together with ice but it tastes pretty good and refreshing, thankfully. Hahaha.

Dinner at Tsui Wah Hong Kong

Dinner buddy ordered another comfort food, egg + luncheon meat + beef instant noodle soup. If you miss eating instant noodle so bad, you should just come to Tsui Wah because the restaurant sells different variety of instant noodles.

Beef Noodle Soup from Tsui Wah Hong Kong

Another main dish that you must order is definitely the condensed milk buns. Tsui Wah's rendition of condensed milk buns is so yummy (and sinful too but who cares, we are on holiday now). The condensed milk buns at Tsui Wah definitely taste better than the version sold at Lang Fong Yuen.

Condensed Milk Buns from Tsui Wah Hong Kong

Close up view of my fishball noodle again. Just realised that Tsui Wah is pretty generous with the amount of fishballs given plus the two pieces of big tofu. Happy me.

Fish Ball Soup Noodle from Tsui Wah Hong Kong

Tsui Wah's price for the dishes is roughly around the same for Xin Wang. The good thing about Tsui Wah is they have so many branches across Hong Kong so you are bound to see one during your trip. Hahaha. Noona visited the branch situated at Tsim Sha Tsui though.

Steal Her Look: Yoona's Chic in White

Her Look:

Anyeong! Welcome back to the Steal Her Look post (Noona watched too many reality shows, it seems). We are going back to the classic white color today as white is still popular on the street nowadays. Noona's colleague has just come up to office wearing white and black (not Noona's favourite combination though). White seems more fun to be paired against patterned bottoms. If you don't believe Noona, maybe Yoona will make you think the same as Noona now. Curious much? Jump!

K-in-HongKong: Line Friends Store, Hysan Place Part 1

Anyeong! Happy Friday people! Noona always feels alive when it is weekend again. Woot! This is when she has all the time in the world for herself (since she's still enjoying single-hood despite the "noises" from outsiders). In addition to enjoying her me-time, this is the time when she can enjoy updating her blog. Yeay!
Tonight, we are going to visit the "house" of Noona's friends from Line Friends town in Hong Kong, the Line Friends store in Hysan Place, Causeway Bay. Jump!

K-in-HongKong: Line Friends Store, Hysan Place

Hysan Place is actually one of the shopping malls in Causeway Bay area. Noona has been wanting to visit the store because the range of Line Friends goodies sold here is pretty good (although not as many as the one in Seoul apparently).

Welcome to Line Friends Store in Hong Kong

The store is divided into two sections. The first section has many clothes from kids size to adult size.

Line Friends Store Hysan Place Hong Kong

The latest range from Line Friends is the Burger & Chips edition which shows characters from Line Friends enjoying junk food. They really know what Noona likes eating. Burger, chips and don't forget the coke.

Line Friends Store Cute Goodies

Giant size Sally will welcome you at the front part of the store. Oh my gawd, how is Noona supposed to sneak you home if you are this big, Sally? (still cute though)

If Noona is...ahem, slightly younger, she would not mind wearing these cute little bag, really!
