Night Time Snacking at Dongdaemun

Noona and friends really enjoy the night activity in Seoul because the city simply does not sleep. With that kind of lifestyle, we decided to hop into the subway and made our way to Dongdaemun for a night time snack.

Throughout our food hunt, our gaze is hooked upon the row of food street stalls.

Especially when the ahjumma pouring ddeokbokki into a bowl. Oh my gawd, all the fried stuff that she sells looks yummy.

If you are not into fried stuffs, there are oden too.

There is also dried squid spotted. I love this snack and in Indonesia, we have dish called Rojak Juhi in which a various kind of fruits and vegetables made into salad with peanut sauce + dried squid on top. Oh gosh, I start to imagine the whole dish in my mind. Hahaha.

When the ddeokbokki is served, everyone rejoiced. Noona is a fan of ddeokbokki no matter how fattening the dish is. =P

K-Fashion Inspiration: Hello Sunshine by Irene Kim

Okay, Noona's posting frequency is getting somewhat lacklustre. Hahaha, sorry, Noona passed out on bed yesterday without posting anything. XD

But anyway, if you are looking for summer fashion inspiration to kick out your weekend, Noona is here to show you fashion style from Korean famous model, Irene Kim.

The good thing about this summer style is its simplicity. A colorful striped tee, any short and a pair of cute sandals make the look so simple and yet, fun! Don't forget your accessory. =)

K-Fashion Inspiration: Feeling Double Blue But It's Friday Tomorrow by KARA's Seungyeon

Apologise for the lack of posts lately because Noona is really feeling mad at life in general lately. Okay, in particular Noona's working life. But anyway, even though this week kinda feels like a week from hell, Noona is looking forward to tomorrow because Friday is here. =)

And for casual Friday attire, Noona is kinda digging Seungyeon's way of wearing denim shirt although Noona probably has to skip the outer layer because it's really very hot outside.

If you are staying in a country which summer is not too hot, you can pair the denim shirt with an outer jacket in lighter blue color. Don't forget the shades.

I wonder if Seungyeon eats at all or maybe she eats and then burn the calories by doing few hours of exercise? That slim waist is really to die for.

K-Fashion Inspiration: A day of cap, tee and mini skirt by Miss A's Suzy

If you wanna be sporty and yet feminine in a hot summer day, we can learn some fashion tips from Suzy's latest photoshoot with MLB (a baseball fashion brand). Summertime is also a time when we can mix and match some color in our fashion style. For instance, a blue cap, a white colorful print tee and hot pink skirt.

Now, we just wish our man lend us their sport car to lean on, yeah? (or better, let us drive the car! va va voom!)

Fallin' in love with chicken galbi at Yoogane

After spending the whole morning and afternoon out watching the guard changing ceremony at Deoksugung Palace and shopping shoes at Ewha University area, Noona and her friend were pretty much bummed. And hungry. So we made our way back to where we stayed, Myeong-dong.

Noona did not really do a lot of research beforehand on where to eat so Noona just randomly walked into a restaurant selling galbi (i.e. grilled meat) in Myeong-dong area. And this restaurant happened to be a famous galbi restaurant which has been in the business for years in Seoul, Yoogane. We had a bit of language barrier when we wanted to order food, but at the end, the restaurant manager helped us out and we managed to order a classic dak galbi (chicken galbi). Upon placing order, a huge pan of marinated chicken and the veggies are placed on the frying pan in the middle on the table.

At the side, the waiter will put the marinated ramen. The ramen will not be thrown into the pan until the chicken are cooked.

This is how the pan looks like when all ingredients are thrown inside and cooked. The taste is so yummy. Noona admits she has a bias towards the ganjang sauce (Korean soy sauce) used in the mixture of dak galbi. But, nonetheless, our dining experience here is quite nice for the tummy.

If you happen to visit Myeong-dong, you can visit Yoogane to try their dak galbi. If you are not a fan of dak galbi, there are a lot of other food choices which you can find in Myeong-dong such as bibimbap at Gogung and kalguksu at Myeongdong Kyoja.

K-Fashion Inspiration: Polka Dot and Jeans on A Summer Day by T-ARA's Hyomin

Don't you feel like drinking your iced drink everyday on a hot summer day? Totally! Of course, we all want to look stylish even with a glass of iced drink on our hand. An idea to do that is by pairing up a polka dot blouse and short denim like what Hyomin did.

Did you see how stylish she looks when she walks? Even when she takes a sip of her drink while walking.

A shades and a pair of wedges will make the look. Personally speaking, I think a pair of sneaker will look good on this ensemble too.

K-Fashion Inspiration: Peek-a-boo Lacey Top by UEE

It seems that a see-through lacy top is in for summer. I've seen a lot of see-through tops in the street and if you are not sure how to wear them properly (without revealing too much of the un-glam body parts), you can follow what UEE does for the H:Connect photoshoot.

A same color bralette inside the top will give you a sexy impression without being too cheap. Although if I have a body as slim as UEE, public will forgive me even if I reveal a bit too much. #ehh.

A hot summer day at Dongdaemun

It was a really hot day, so hot until Noona can't wait to run to any shopping mall that Noona first see in Dongdaemun area. But the first thing that Noona see when she comes out from Dongdaemun subway station is some kind of weird pipes. Oh wait, they are some kind of art installation.

Beside the piping, Noona saw a shopping mall called Good Morning City. Noona is so ready to make a dash inside to bask in the cool air of air-conditioner.

But Noona's friend dragged Noona to Doota instead because she feels like having a frozen yoghurt over at Red Mango, which is located inside Doota. Oh well. A few steps over to Doota will not melt me, Noona says to herself.

Within minutes, Noona and friend are seated at Red Mango ready to devour the yummy mango frozen yoghurt with extra mango toppings. Yum!

There are many shopping malls in Dongdaemun but most of the clothes stall here do not allow customers to try the clothes. Even if there are a few exception stores which allow customers to try, the changing rooms are quite far away and very limited. Hence, the customers do feel reluctant to try the clothes here. Customers with nor-here-nor-there size like Noona comes out from Dongdaemun empty-handed. Le sigh.

Noona prefers to shop at Ewha University area because she came out with a lot of shopping bags in hand after visiting E-dae.
